Help with dog-space setup

Practical routes when a crate, carrier, pen, gate or bed does not fit the dog, the room or the intended job.

If the equipment does not fit, stop using a setup that restricts movement or creates an injury risk. Return to the dog’s standing, sitting and stretched-out measurements, then check usable internal space rather than the size name on the box.

For room-layout problems, start with dog crates, pens and gates or beds and home spaces. For cars, airlines and temporary accommodation, use the carriers and travel section.

If a dog is panting, cowering, barking excessively, repeatedly trying to escape or injuring itself, the answer is not simply stronger equipment. Stop, slow the introduction and speak to a vet or qualified behaviour professional where the concern continues.
