Source policy

We prefer official documentation, manufacturers, recognised professional bodies, regulators and other primary sources for factual claims. Product availability, specifications and retailer destinations are dated and rechecked before publication.

Source order

For welfare and behaviour boundaries we favour PDSA, RSPCA, Blue Cross and suitable veterinary or behaviour organisations. UK travel claims begin with GOV.UK and the Highway Code. Product dimensions, installation, materials and care details come from the manufacturer where possible, with a named retailer used for current UK variants and availability.

Manufacturer claims are attributed and do not become independent editorial findings. A phrase such as “heavy-duty” is treated as marketing unless a defined test supports it. Crash testing, airline acceptance and vehicle compatibility must refer to the exact model and current documentation.

We save the page URL, publisher, access date and claim supported. We do not copy whole source articles into our records.
